Didgipak In Depth Analysis

I am doing a analysis of a Michael Jackson digipack as I was struggling to find one for the folk genre and his one is really good with lots going on in it.

The main bulk of the pack is a solid gold colour with this repeated on three panels as well as on the disks. the other colour is this shiny looking night sky effect that is a repeated theme throughout the digipack. The sky effect is used to create a silhouette of Jackson on one panel and to make up his costume on another. It is used to signify freedom amongst the stars to connect it to the title Xscape which means escape.

Close ups of Jacksons face have been used on the pack 3 times, First on the cover again on the inside and once more on a pull out poster. it has been used so many times as Jackson is a world famous artist who has created such an image for him self that his face now sells himself.

The Typography used is very out there again connecting back to the themes of escaping to the stars like the themes and title coneate throughout the rest of the pack. The same font is used on the back for the list of songs however this makes it very difficult to read as the font size is to small.

I have analysed a didgipack so I can see what works where stuff goes and how to set up a theme. It will help me when it comes to designing my own as it gives me an idea of a layout as well as shows how to connect every thing back to the theme.
